原子力機構とフランス放射線防護・原子力安全研究所(IRSN)では、反応度事故時のペレットからの気体核分裂生成物(FPガス)放出に関する動的挙動解明を目的とした試験を共同で計画している。このFGD(Fission Gas Dynamics)試験では、試験容器に高燃焼度燃料を収めてNSRRでパルス照射を行い、容器内圧力・温度の上昇を高い時間分解能で計測することでFPガス放出履歴を評価する。試験容器の設計及び試験条件の妥当性を確認するため、過去に通常のNSRR実験でデータを取得した高燃焼度UO
及びMOX燃料を対象とした予備解析を燃料過渡挙動解析コードSCANAIRにより実施した。その結果、本試験のために開発したLVDT式圧力計が十分な応答速度を備えていること、試験容器外側の断熱層を省略しても試験容器の熱容量が大きいためパルス照射直後の燃料温度履歴は大きく変わらないこと等、試験容器の設計に有益な知見を得た。

An experimental program to investigate dynamics of fission gas release during a reactivity initiated accident is being carried out as a joint project of JAEA and IRSN, France. The objectives, methodology and current status are presented as well as the preliminary test results related with sensor development.

Model development for transient heat transfer under reactivity initiated accident conditions has been conducted using the extensive database of NSRR. Characteristics of the boiling curves, which were evaluated by reverse calculations of the cladding surface heat flux evolution from the cladding temperature history, were studied and key understandings for modeling were obtained.
